I would really like to upgrade without needing a clean install. Also, under "other software" in software in updates, it is already pointing to the new lunar packages. If I run sudo apt upgrade, there are 5 upgradable packages that are held and won't upgrade. If I try and run through the terminal, it tells me to make sure I'm updated first before upgrading the OS. Now when I try and click "upgrade" again, the gui simply disappears. Then I get a second error that Lunar has crashed and can't upgrade to 23.04. First all was well, then it warned me about some error from wine-builds package not being able to install. Then pressed "upgrade" when prompted from the upgrade GUI. I tried upgrading to ubuntu 23.04 from 22.04 using the GUI, first I made sure I was up to date, then changed the settings to allow new ubuntu updates. I'm using ubuntu 22.04 with Nvidia drivers.
